Mentoring Undergraduate Research Abroad

BSU’s Undergraduate Research Abroad Grants, supported jointly by the Minnock Center for International Engagement and the Office of Undergraduate Research, funds small groups of students led by faculty/librarian mentors in conducting scholarly work abroad. Recent grant recipients will share how they developed, with 2 to 4 students each, collaborative scholarly projects that revolve around three weeks abroad (including some that took place on or near the campus of a BSU partner institution)—to study the educational system in China and Hong Kong, the solar-power industry in China, water-filtration in Cambodia, literary and cultural history in Ireland, and elder care in Belize. Panelists will offer their recommendations for other faculty/librarians interested in designing Undergraduate Research Abroad experiences
