Teacher Voice in Media

Good teachers build a strong foundation for our next generation. Therefore, their stories must be heard, shared, and learned. Human beings are diverse, and how-to textbooks cannot prepare teachers to face daily challenges. On the other hand, media and online discussion forums provide possibilities for teachers to discuss a particular complicated situation or episode. Through open communication and discussion, teachers have opportunities to share their processes of how to overcome struggles in order to achieve “aha” moments, and learn from each other. Teacher voice in media provides an ongoing medium for teachers to build a solid foundation for teaching and learning. As we have moved into Digital and Information Age, challenges for teachers have become greater than ever. In addressing these challenges, two faculty members from education and communication departments have worked collaboratively in leading the most innovative way to address challenges that the country has been facing
