Maropéen.nes. De l’altérisation à la négociation des appartenances

International audienceThis article examines the ability of people of Moroccan descent living in Europe to produce an alternative imaginary through trade. While the question of the origin of individuals mobilizes political and academic attention to assess their degree of integration in host countries and their attachment to their country of origin, cultural and consumer practices are at work among individuals to overcome the othering they face in their daily lives. Through an economic anthropological approach to the world of marriage, its actors and its economy, this article presents an analysis of a new service in Europe. The tangaft, as an accompaniment service for Moroccan weddings, brings together individual and collective experiences that reveal how certain actors transcend the divide between origins and new citizenship by developing registers of representations that, instead of opposing each other, combine the multiple affiliations with which they identify. The moropeanity shows how plural identities are made both in the intimacies that are founded in marriage and in the development of business between Morocco and Europe.Cet article propose d’examiner la capacité des personnes d’ascendance marocaine vivants en Europe à produire un imaginaire alternatif par le biais du commerce. Alors que la question de l’origine des individus mobilise les attentions politiques et académiques pour évaluer leur degré d’intégration dans les pays d’accueil et celui de leur attachement au pays d’origine, des pratiques culturelles et consommatoires sont à l’œuvre parmi des individus pour surmonter les altérisations auxquelles ils/elles font face dans leur quotidien. Par une approche d’anthropologie économique sur le monde du mariage, ses acteurs et son économie, cet article présente l’analyse d’un service nouveau en Europe. Le tangaft, en tant que prestation d’accompagnement du mariage marocain, agrège des expériences individuelles et collectives qui montrent comment certain.es acteur.rices transcendent les lignes de fracture entre origines et nouvelles citoyennetés en élaborant des registres de représentations qui, au lieu de s’opposer, allient les multiples appartenances auxquelles ils/elles s’identifient. La maropéanité, montre comment se fabriquent les identités plurielles à la fois dans les intimités qui se fondent dans le mariage et dans le développement d’entreprise entre le Maroc et l’Europe. Les entretiens qui fondent le propos de l’article sont menés auprès d’entrepreneures et de leur clientèle.
