Vibration energy harvesting focuses on using vibrations to power wireless sensors nodes in locations where batteries cannot be used or changed. In this context, the use of piezoelectric resonant structures enables to harvest significant electrical power. However, this performance is reached only over a very limited frequency band (typically a few percent of the resonance frequency of the harvester). In response to this problem, electrical techniques capable of tuning the resonance frequency of piezoelectric harvesters have been developed in recent years.
