International audienceFive excavation seasons (1991-1995) done by a tunisian-french team at Sidi Jdidi near Hammamet (Tunisia) brought to light a christian basilica comprising two phases : the first probably vandalic and the second one byzantine. Six assemblages are presented in this first pottery report. Contexts 1 to 4 provide chronological references for the different phases of construction. Contexts 5 and 6 which post-date the second basilica, give valuable data on the ceramics used int the latest period of the city (coin of Constantine IV). In the seventh century separate traditions seem to coexist : Roman, with lamps and late forms of African Red Slip ware (Hayes 107 and 109 with burnished patterns), Pre-roman, with the persistance of...
