Graduation date: 2005A numerical model for the simulation of fully-coupled fluid-structure\ud interaction is developed in this study. In modeling the fluid, the Reynolds\ud Averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved for an incompressible viscous\ud fluid field and a k-ε model is employed for turbulence computations.\ud Hydrodynamic forces obtained by the integration of the fluid pressure along\ud the structural boundaries are applied as external excitation forces to the\ud structural system and the dynamic response of the structural system is\ud computed based on dynamic equilibrium.
