"This progress report describes research conducted on pulp mill waste\ud degradation in marine waters ... Engineering investigations ... have centered upon (a) treatment of mill wastes by dilution; (b) foam separation of strong wastes and (c) treatment of evaporator condensates by carbon adsorption. Biological studies have been concerned with development of bioassays suitable for assessing the effect of pulp mill effluent on the marine environment and for evaluating waste treatment methods."
