Body and child: the (dis) construction of body image in times of managed culture

It aims to elucidate the research problem proposed from the questions: what expressions of the administered culture affirm aesthetic patterns in the construction of body image in children aged six to ten years old? By another body image, what movements of children's counterculture are produced by children? The general objective is to understand the relationship between the administered society and the child tangentially the movements of culture and counterculture; and more specifically, the objective is to: a) identify the expressions of the culture administered in society; b) to capture the ways in which children produce a culture of childhood; c) identify the constituent elements of the children's body image; d) to understand the strategies of affirmation of children's culture and counterculture in the constitution of aesthetic, ethical, political and social standards with which the construction of children's body image takes place. To understand these assumptions, the foundations of historical-dialectical materialism are taken as a reference for studies and research. The theoretical references that guided this research were: ADORNO; HORKHEIMER (1985), ADORNO (1995), ARROYO (2019), BENJAMIN (2009), CUNHA (2014), GOLDMANN (1979), KUHLMANN JR (2015), LIBÂNEO (2018), LUKÁCS (2018), MARX (2010), MONDZAIN (2015), REDIN (2009), RESENDE (2009), SARMENTO (2008), SOARES (2013), VAZ (2008), among others with which it was possible to establish critical dialogue. The data collection procedures were organized in the triangulation composed of bricolage, drawings and conversation wheels with children attending a public square in the municipality of Goiatuba, GO, aged between six and ten years old. The study categories were treated from the data obtained in the research field, being arranged in four chapters. The first discusses the social constructions related to the administration of bodies in contemporary society and its interface with childhood and children. The second chapter aims to discuss body image and the educational/civilizing project for the child. The discussions of the third chapter seek to unveil the relationship of the constructs of the body images of children with issues of race and social class. The fourth chapter deals with the resilience of children towards the construction of a counterculture, relating them to the voices of the children participating in this researchO presente trabalho, inscrito na linha de pesquisa Educação, Sociedade e Cultura, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da PUC Goiás, tem como objeto de pesquisa a (des)construção da imagem corporal das crianças em tempos de cultura administrada. Busca a elucidação do problema de pesquisa proposto a partir das perguntas: que expressões da cultura administrada afirmam padrões estéticos na construção da imagem corporal em crianças de seis a dez anos? Por uma outra imagem corporal, quais os movimentos de contracultura infantil são produzidos pelas crianças? Coloca-se como objetivo geral compreender a relação entre a sociedade administrada e a criança tangenciando os movimentos da cultura e contracultura; e mais especificamente objetiva-se: a) identificar as expressões da cultura administrada na sociedade; b) apreender os modos pelos quais as crianças produzem uma cultura da infância; c) identificar os elementos constitutivos da imagem corporal das crianças; d) compreender as estratégias de afirmação da cultura e contracultura infantil na constituição de padrões estéticos, éticos, políticos e sociais com os quais se dá a construção da imagem corporal das crianças. Para entender esses pressupostos, toma-se como referencial de estudos e pesquisa os fundamentos do materialismo histórico-dialético. Os referenciais teóricos que nortearam essa pesquisa foram: ADORNO; HORKHEIMER (1985), ADORNO (1995), ARROYO (2019), BENJAMIN (2009), CUNHA (2014), GOLDMANN (1979), KUHLMANN JR (2015), LIBÂNEO (2018), LUKÁCS (2018), MARX (2010), MONDZAIN (2015), REDIN (2009), RESENDE (2009), SARMENTO (2008), SOARES (2013), VAZ (2008), dentre outros com os quais foi possível estabelecer diálogo crítico. Os procedimentos de coleta de dados foram organizados na triangulação composta pela bricolagem, pelos desenhos e rodas de conversa com crianças frequentadoras de uma praça pública do município de Goiatuba, GO, com idades entre seis e dez anos. As categorias de estudo foram tratadas a partir dos dados obtidos em campo de pesquisa, estando dispostos em quatro capítulos. O primeiro discute as construções sociais referentes à administração dos corpos na sociedade contemporânea e sua interface com a infância e a criança. O segundo capítulo busca discutir a imagem corporal e o projeto educativo/civilizatório para a criança. As discussões do terceiro capítulo buscam desvelar a relação dos constructos das imagens corporais das crianças com questões de raça e classe social. O quarto capítulo trata da capacidade de resistência das crianças na direção da construção de uma contracultura, relacionando-as com as vozes das crianças participantes deste trabalh
