Atividade física, diabetes e obesidade nas aulas de educação física: percepções de escolares do 7º ano

This study seeks to understand how students see the triad of the physical activity, diabetes and obesity in relation to the health in school physical education classes. The study involved 15 schoolchildren of both sexes of the seventh grade of the elementary school, at a state school in the city of Alegrete (RS). It was using a questionnaire in two occasions: before and after of the pedagogical intervention with duration a total of twenty class/hours. During the intervention period, the theoretical classes prevailed and they involve a presentation of videos and issues related with obesity, diabetes and physical activity. The results demonstrated the students didn’t show significant differences in the answers in both tests about the Diabetes. About the Obesity, the students showed a clearer concept and more consistent by the end of the period. For the risk factors associated with obesity, there was a higher concentration of responses which were related to obesity to the poor diet and to physical inactivity. Then, it was possible to identify a wider distribution in regard the different risk factors. Thus, we observed that among students there is an association between physical activity and the diseases prevention, especially diabetes and obesity.Este estudo procurou compreender como se configura a tríade Atividade Física, Diabetes e Obesidade em relação à saúde nas aulas de Educação Física escolar, a partir da ótica de alunos. O estudo envolveu 15 escolares, de ambos os sexos, do 7º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola da rede estadual de ensino do município de Alegrete (RS). Foi utilizado um questionário em dois momentos, antes e depois de uma intervenção pedagógica com duração de vinte horas/aula no total. Durante o período de intervenção, as aulas teóricas predominaram e envolveram apresentação de vídeos e temas relacionados obesidade, diabetes e atividade física. Os resultados demonstraram que os alunos não mostraram diferenças significativas nas respostas em ambos os testes para o diabetes. Sobre a obesidade, os alunos apresentaram um conceito mais claro e adequada ao final do período. Para os fatores de risco associados à obesidade, inicialmente houve uma maior concentração de respostas que a relacionavam com a má alimentação e o sedentarismo. Em seguida, foi possível identificar uma distribuição mais ampla quanto aos diferentes fatores de risco. Assim, pudemos identificar que entre os alunos houve uma associação entre a atividade física e a prevenção de doenças, em especial o diabetes e a obesidade.
