CONDIÇÕES DE TRABALHO DOCENTE NA VISÃO DE PROFESSORES DE MATEMÁTICA: UM ESTUDO EXPLORATÓRIO

The conditions of teaching and the requirements for its performance have changed in last years. This paper presents the voices of teachers from the paulistas municipal networks on the competence they consider necessary to teach mathematics in final years of primary education and about their working conditions. As theoretical reference used Fiorentini et al. (2002), Freitas et al. (2005), Imbernón (2006), Passos et al. (2006), Lourencetti (2006), Zagury (2006), Fiorentini (2008), Lopes (2001), among others. It is an exploratory study whose data were collected through a questionnaire, in a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results indicate adverse or insufficient conditions for the competent performance of teachers, which they like to stay in the teaching profession. Even in conditions they consider inadequate, the teachers seek various ways to continue to form, with or without the encouragement of educational systems where they work.As condições de trabalho docente e as exigências para sua atuação têm se modificado nos últimos anos. Neste texto são apresentadas as vozes dos professores de redes municipais paulistas sobre as competências que consideram necessárias para ensinar matemática nos anos finais do ensino fundamental e sobre suas condições de trabalho. O referencial teórico é pautado em autores que abordam o desenvolvimento profissional do professor e suas condições de trabalho, como Fiorentini et al. (2002), Freitas et al. (2005), Imbernón (2006), Passos et al. (2006), Lourencetti (2006), Zagury (2006), Fiorentini (2008), Lopes (2001), entre outros. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório cujos dados foram coletados por meio de questionário, em uma perspectiva qualitativa e também quantitativa. Os resultados apontam condições adversas ou insuficientes para a atuação competente dos professores, os quais dizem permanecer na docência por gostarem da profissão. Mesmo em condições que consideram insuficientes os professores procuram variadas formas de continuar se formando, com ou sem incentivo dos sistemas de ensino onde trabalham
