OBJECTIVES: Characterization of elderly patients hospitalized with hip fractures in an university hospital and verification of the impact of interventions applied in the final clinical outcome. METHODS: The medical records elderlies aged 65 or older, admitted to Hospital Universitário Risoleta Tolentino Neves (HURTN) diagnosed with hip fractures in the period from 01/01/2009 to 02/28/2011 were taken.
