This study aimed at identifying the behavior and attitudes that facilitated and the ones that damaged the teacher-student relationship experienced in a Nursing undergraduate program, from the students’ point of view. We applied a questionnaire to sixteen students of a public university in the state of Ceará. Dialogue, friendship, flexibility and readiness on the part of the teachers of the program were mentioned as factors that favor the teacher-student relationship. Authoritarianism, intransigence and lack of flexibility were mentioned as prejudicial to this relationship.
