Processo de leitura e internet: considerações relevantes

This paper aims to demonstrate the current debate involving cognition, reading and internet. At first, we present the arguments involving neuroscientists, such as Pinker (2010) and Carr (2010). Then, according to the meta-theoretical foundations of Metateoria das Interfaces (COSTA, 2007), the objective is to redesign the debate by building an internal interface between Psycholinguistics, Semantics and Pragmatics, in order to explain the differences in traditional and online readings. Then, we make an analysis of reading based on three assumptions: (i) the language is based on logical-linguistic-communicative mechanisms, (ii) it is necessary to understand the functioning of such mechanisms, as well as the notions of adaptation to different contexts, to outline the different types of reading and possible consequences for brain structure, (iii) as well as a form of expression entails semantic-pragmatic change, the media in that particular text is interfering with its content and, consequently, the reader's cognitive processing. The following article aims, therefore, to investigate reading as an inferential cognitive processes, in order to illustrate that reading on the Internet, despite being different from the traditional sense, should be explored by theoretical studies with relevant descriptive and explanatory capacity.A proposta do artigo está centralizada no debate atual envolvendo cognição, leitura e internet. Em um primeiro momento, apresentam-se os argumentos envolvendo neurocientistas, tais como Pinker (2010) e Carr (2010). Após, de acordo com os fundamentos metateóricos propostos pela Metateoria das Interfaces (COSTA, 2007), objetiva-se redesenhar o debate através da construção de uma interface interna entre Psicolinguística, Semântica e Pragmática, a fim de explicar as diferenças nas leituras realizadas de forma tradicional e online. Ancora-se, assim, uma análise da leitura baseada em três hipóteses: (i) a linguagem está baseada em mecanismos lógico-linguístico-comunicativos; (ii) é preciso compreender o funcionamento de tais mecanismos, bem como as noções de adequação a diferentes contextos, a fim de delinear os diferentes tipos de leitura e as possíveis consequências para a estrutura cerebral; (iii) assim como a forma de uma expressão acarreta mudanças semântico-pragmáticas, a mídia em que determinado texto se encontra interfere no seu conteúdo e, consequentemente, no processamento cognitivo do leitor. O seguinte artigo tem como objetivo, portanto, investigar uma perspectiva de tratamento da leitura enquanto processo cognitivo e inferencial, a fim de ilustrar que a leitura feita na internet, apesar de ser diferente da tradicional, deve ser alvo de estudos teóricos adequados, com capacidades descritivas e explanatórias relevantes
