We present herein the reflections resulting from the analysis of the meanings that a teacher takes into account when teaching History by means of written language. Based on the fact that more elements were needed so as to analyze the writings of children and teenagers in our research, an attempt was made to understand the teachers' conceptions about the teaching and learning of writing and how these questions relate, in terms of this subject, to the teaching of History and the setting up of identity.
