Etnometodologia e Pesquisa Qualitativa em Saúde: observar, ouvir, descrever

After recalling the theoretical reversal made by ethnomethodology and the frequent misinterpretations associated with it, this article develops some of the features of ethnomethodology, as a sociology of practical achievements, which seeks to investigate the practice of ordinary social actors who constantly apply their socialskills through their “practical sociological reasoning”. This competence is not restricted to a few, such as sociologists for example, but is practiced by all human beings in their daily exchanges. Taking into account this founding aspect, the article develops, in accordance to certain concepts of ethnomethodology, three “elementary” operations that any researcher in the fields of health or education, and more generallyin the social and human sciences, can easily carry out: observation, listening, and description.Depois de lembrar a inversão teórica feita pela etnometodologia e as frequentes interpretações errôneas associadas a ela, este artigo trata de algumas das realizações práticas, que visam investigar a prática de atores sociais comuns que constantemente aplicam suas habilidades sociais através de seu “raciocínio sociológico prático”. Essa competência não é restrita a poucos, como aos sociólogos, por exemplo, mas é exercida por todos os seres humanos em suas trocas diárias. Tendo em conta esse aspecto fundador, o artigo desenvolve, em relaçao a certos conceitos da etnometodologia, três operações “elementares” que qualquer pesquisador nos campos da saúde ou da educação e, mais geralmente,das ciências sociais e humanas pode facilmente utilizar: observar, escutar e descrever
