In addition, we have studied the growth conditions and the properties of ZnSSe alloy nano-tetrapods grown by chemical vapor deposition. Different from the ZnSSe nanowires synthesized by MOCVD, the ZnSSe nano-tetrapods are of hexagonal structure. We observed a wavelength-tunable near band gap luminescence in the UV-blue region from this nanostructurally-designed system.Recently, semiconductor nanostructures have attracted much attention because they are potentially useful as fundamental building blocks in nanodevices.
