Introduction: According to the International Continence Society (ICS), urinary incontinence (UI) is defined as an involuntary loss of urine. The disfunction affects about 50% of women and when associated with the aging process. Objectives: This study aimed to identify through a cross-sectional study, the prevalence of UI and the impact on their quality of life. Methodology: Female patients institutionalized with age between 65 and 90 years old were selected. Exclusion criteria were: women with cognitive impairment or with any visual impairment and those urinary catheter users.
