Perspectiva da filologia textual

Textual Philology has retaken its position turning itself to its first and ultimate goal: to study the culture of a people. In this direction, the research developed by the Group of Romance Philology joins the critical edition of texts to the author and his work. From the text (written and oral) it studies profoundly the characteristics of the language found in these texts. Different stages of research are presented. This research provides the interaction of the critical edition and the linguistic changes, based on the principles which states “a language is the history of the people who speaks it”.A Filologia Textual na sua retomada de posição volta-se para aquilo que sempre foi o seu primeiro e último fim: o estudo da cultura de um povo. Nessa direção, as pesquisas do Grupo de Filologia Românica alia a edição crítica do texto ao estudo do autor e da sua obra. A partir do texto (escrito e oral) aprofunda-se no estudo das características da língua documentada nesses textos. Mostram-se, assim, diferentes momentos de uma pesquisa que faz interagir a crítica textual e a mudança linguística, dentro do princípio de que “a língua é a história do povo que a fala”
