Perception, sensation and carnality in the phenomenology and ontology of Maurice Merleau-Ponty

This paper aims to analyze and describe the theme of perception in Merleau-Ponty’s three works: The Nature of Perception (1934), The Phenomenology of Perception (1945) and The Visible and the Invisible (1964), showing how the author Course of criticism of classical psychology and philosophy. The philosophical status present in his works is that of trying to overcome the subject-object relationship or the problem of solipsism and establish the primacy of perception by arguing how it relates to sensation, corporality and carnality. In this sense, modern thought is called into question and all previously established theories are reviewed in the light of phenomenology in its naive contact with the world and ontology with the force of the perceptive experience capable of making the flesh the crucial element of sensibility and Visibility, that is, of the innermost world of perception.O presente artigo trata de descrever e analisar o tema da percepção em três obras de Merleau-Ponty: A natureza da percepção (1934), Fenomenologia da percepção (1945) e O visível e o invisível (1964), mostrando como o autor faz seu percurso em torno da crítica à psicologia e filosofia clássica. O estatuto filosófico presente em suas obras é o da tentativa de superar a relação sujeito-objeto ou o problema do solipsismo e estabelecer a primazia da percepção argumentando como esta se relaciona com a sensação, a corporeidade e a carnalidade. Nesse sentido, o pensamento moderno é posto em xeque e todas as teorias anteriormente estabelecidas é revisada a luz da fenomenologia em seu contato ingênuo com o mundo e da ontologia com a força da experiência perceptiva capaz de fazer da carne, o elemento crucial da sensibilidade e visibilidade, isto é, do mundo mais íntimo da percepção
