Acolhimento e integração dos estudantes internacionais na Universidade da Integração Internacional da Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira - UNILAB.

The internationalization of higher education, consequence of the process of expansion of this level of education, is due to the increase in the processes of academic, scientific and technological exchange and bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements between different countries. Here in Brazil, these phenomena have been teasing profound changes in the area of higher education and have revealed a concern about the quality of teaching and the question of the permanence of students in the Federal Institutions of Higher Education. In this context, we find Unilab, Federal Institution of Higher Education, created at the regional and international scope, which welcomes Brazilian and international students. In this way, it is appropriate to know what IFES are doing in the scope of student assistance policies. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the perception of international students about the actions of reception and adaptation to academic life at the Unilab, the locus of the research. The research has descriptive and exploratory nature, with quantitative and qualitative approach. It will be adopted as methodological course the bibliographical and documentary analysis and the field research to better understand the topic addressed. A questionnaire will be applied to international students who entered through the Selective Process of Foreign Students from the year 2013 to the first period of 2018, as well as interviews with selected students in the selection process for PAIE tutor. The results obtained in the research revealed that the international students consider the actions of reception and integration, promoted by Unilab, important and necessary for an adequate and quiet adaptation in the university. It is concluded, therefore, that the Institution should invest in actions that contribute to the better reception and to the promotion of the physical and psychosocial well-being of the students.A internacionalização da educação superior, consequência do processo de expansão desse nível de ensino, é fruto do aumento nos processos de intercâmbio acadêmico, científico e tecnológico, e dos acordos de cooperação bilaterial e multilateral entre diversos países. No Brasil, esses fenômenos vêm provocando profundas mudanças na área da educação superior, o que tem revelado uma preocupação acerca da qualidade do ensino e da questão da permanência dos estudantes nas Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior (IFES). Nesse contexto, encontra-se a Universidade da Integração Internacional da Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira (Unilab), Instituição Federal de Ensino Superior, criada em âmbito regional e internacional, que acolhe estudantes brasileiros e estrangeiros. Dessa forma, faz-se oportuno compreender as ações realizadas nas IFES, em termos de acolhimento e integração, no âmbito das políticas de assistência ao estudante. Assim sendo, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a percepção dos discentes internacionais quanto as ações de acolhimento e adaptação à vida acadêmica na Unilab. Trata- se de uma pesquisa de natureza descritiva com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Foi adotado como percurso metodológico a análise bibliográfica e documental, como também, uma pesquisa de campo para melhor compreensão do tema abordado. Foi aplicado um questionário aos estudantes internacionais que ingressaram por meio do Processo Seletivo de Estudantes Estrangeiros do ano de 2013 até o primeiro período de 2018. Conseguinte, realizaram-se entrevistas com os estudantes selecionados no processo seletivo para tutor do Programa de Acolhimento e Integração de Estudantes Estrangeiros (PAIE). Os resultados obtidos na pesquisa relataram que os discentes internacionais consideram as ações de acolhimento e integração, promovidas pela Unilab, importantes e necessárias para uma adaptação adequada e tranquila na universidade. Conclui-se, portanto, que a Instituição deve investir em ações que contribuam para o melhor acolhimento e para a promoção do bem-estar físico e psicossocial dos estudantes
