Parâmetros hematológicos e bromatológicos na alevinagem de tilápias do nilo, alimentadas com ração suplementada com spirulina (arthrospira) platensis

Currently, the world population has been faced multiple correlated challenges ranging from economic crises to significant climate changes, which makes increasingly difficult the conciliation between the productive pressure and limited natural resources. While extractive fisheries continues with a stagnant production, aquaculture has been expanding continuously, being one of the animal production sectors with greater annual growth. Among the production costs involved in aquaculture, artificial feeding is frequently cited as the most significant cost, which encourages several studies using algae meal as protein source for fish. This study aimed to: evaluate the hematological parameters of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fed with commercial feed added with different percentages of the microalgae Spirulina platensis, as well as the zootechnical performance of the fishes, water quality parameters and chemical composition of the fillets. Among water quality parameters, phosphorus was the only parameter that reached values above the recommended for culture systems while the other parameters remained stable and within the recommended limits of the current legislation. Regar ing the zootechnical parameters, the control treatment had the lowest survival rate, whereas treatment with inclusion of 20% of S. platensis in commercial feed showed the highest survival rate, final average weight and biomass gain. The best hematological results were obtained in treatments with suplementation of 10% and 20% of S. platensis, especially the value of hematocrit, erythrocyte count and hemoglobin concentration. All treatments showed MCV (medium corpuscular volume) values above 100 fL, which characterizes the good health of the animals. The MCH (medium corpuscular hemoglobin) and MCCH (medium concentration of corpuscular hemoglobin) were similar to the results of the hemoglobin concentration, with the inclusion of 10% and 20% of S. platensis presenting the best results. There was an increasing trend on the content of total plasmatic proteins (PPT) of the fish according with the inclusion of S. platensis in the feed. Regarding the chemical composition of the fillets, the inclusions of 5% and 20% of S. platensis showed higher levels of ashes. The highest levels of crude protein (CP) were found in the treatments with 10% and 20% of S. platensis, whereas lipids showed only an increasing trend according to the levels of S. platensis in feed.Atualmente, a população mundial tem enfrentado múltiplos desafios correlacionados que vão desde crises econômicas a alterações climáticas significativas, o que torna cada vez mais difícil a conciliação entre a pressão produtiva e a utilização dos recursos naturais. Enquanto a pesca extrativa continua com uma produção estagnada, a aquicultura vem se expandindo continuamente, sendo um dos setores da produção animal com maior crescimento anual. Dentre os custos produtivos envolvidos na aquicultura, a alimentação artificial é frequentemente citada como sendo o custo mais expressivo, o que tem justificado a realização de diversos estudos, utilizando farinha de algas como fonte proteica para peixes. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar os parâmetros hematológicos de tilápias do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus) alimentados com ração comercial adicionada de diferentes percentuais da microalga Spirulina platensis, bem como o desempenho zootécnico dos peixes, os parâmetros de qualidade de água e a composição centesimal dos filés. Dentre os parâmetros de qualidade de água, o fósforo reativo foi o único parâmetro que atingiu valores acima do recomendado para sistemas de cultivo, enquanto os outros parâmetros se mantiveram estáveis e dentro dos limites recomendados na atual legislação. Em relação aos parâmetros zootécnicos, o tratamento controle apresentou a menor taxa de sobrevivência, enquanto o tratamento com inclusão de 20% de S. platensis na ração apresentou a maior taxa de sobrevivência, peso médio final e ganho de biomassa. Os melhores resultados hematológicos foram obtidos nos tratamentos com inclusão de 10% e 20% de S. platensis na ração, com destaque para o valor do hematócrito, contagem de eritrócitos e concentração de hemoglobina. Todos os tratamentos apresentaram valores de volume corpuscular médio (VCM) acima de 100 fL, o que caracteriza o bom estado de saúde dos animais. A hemoglobina corpuscular média (HCM) e a concentração de hemoglobina corpuscular média (CHCM) apresentaram resultados semelhantes aos da concentração de hemoglobina nas suplementações com 10% e 20% de S. platensis, sendo os melhores resultados. Houve uma tendência crescente no teor de proteínas plasmáticas totais (PPT) dos peixes a partir do aumento dos teores de inclusão de S. platensis nas rações. Quanto à composição química do filé, as inclusões de 5% e 20% de S. platensis mostraram maiores índices de cinzas. Os maiores teores de proteína bruta (PB) foram encontrados nos tratamentos com 10% e 20% de S. platensis, enquanto os lipídios apresentaram apenas uma tendência crescente com o aumento de S. platensis nas rações administradas
