The present article intends to analyze the category recognition in the philosophies of Charles Taylor and Axel Honneth. The issue in question is relevant in contemporary times because of the existence of social groups, so-called minority entities that want more public spaces of discussion in order to have their rights recognized, effective. In this sense, it is necessary to insert in the discussion two current authors who deal with the subject recognition in their philosophical systems.
