Food Addiction (FA) consists of recurrent and maladaptive consumption of hyper-palatable foods (rich in carbohydrates, fats and/or salt), leading to clinical suffering and/or psychosocial impairment. The development of the Yale Food Addiction Scale (YFAS) represented a framework for the evaluation of FA. The vast majority of studies with humans occurred in developed countries and there was no validation of the brazilian version of YFAS.
