This article discusses film censorship exercised in Brazil during the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985), based on two selected sets of films: the first one with historical themes and other formed by Brazilian documentaries. The focus is on censorship processes belonging to DCDP file (Division of Censorship and Public Entertainment) located at the National Archives in Brasília.
