Revista Entrepalavras, Fortaleza, ano 3, v. 3, n. 2, p. 256-273, ago./dez. 2013.The present work aims at analyzing textual genres that present themselves in Textbook Portuguese Language (TPL) - “Languages Portuguese 2: Literature. Text Production. Grammar” (Cereja; Magalhães, 2010) - 2nd year of high school. Besides that, check which genres are more recurrent in TPL and if the activities (suggestions for using) brought about in the book may develop skills and reading and writing skills of the student. Accordingly, still we investigate how to articulation of the textual genres occurs with discursive domains listed by Marcuschi (2008), and which language skills (SL) (DOLZ and SCHNEUWLY, 2004) are the most exploited. In its turn, this analysis falls within the research line of Applied Linguistics - AL, in the theory of genres (text / discourse) is therefore based on advocated approach by Bakhtin (1997); Marcuschi (2002, 2005, 2008); Rojo (2007), among others. At last, we reflect on what it recommends the NCP of Portuguese language, addressed to high school, how to work with genres in the classroom, since for the NCP they characterize important tool pedagogical guidance, especially with regard to objectives and contents of the TPL. However, results point out that not always the genres set out in the book at issue provides the students to comprehension and the production of different genres, watching the social use context.O presente trabalho realiza um levantamento dos gêneros textuais que se presentificam no Livro Didático de Língua Portuguesa (LDLP) – Português Linguagens 2: Literatura. Produção de texto. Gramática (CEREJA; MAGALHÃES, 2010) - do 2º ano do Ensino Médio –, a fim de verificar quais gêneros são mais recorrentes no LDLP e se as atividades (sugestões de uso) trazidas no livro podem desenvolver as competências e habilidades de leitura e escrita do aluno. Nesse sentido, ainda investigaremos como ocorre a articulação dos gêneros textuais com os domínios discursivos listados por Marcuschi (2008) e quais capacidades de linguagem (CL) (DOLZ e SCHNEUWLY, 2004) são mais exploradas. Por sua vez, esta análise enquadra-se na linha de pesquisa da Linguística Aplicada – LA, na teoria de gêneros (de textos/do discurso), pautandose, assim, na perspectiva defendida por Bakhtin (1979, 1992); Marcuschi (2002, 2005, 2008); Rojo (2007), entre outros. Refletimos também sobre o que preconiza os PCN de língua portuguesa, direcionados ao Ensino Médio, quanto ao trabalho com os gêneros textuais na sala de aula, uma vez que, para os PCN, eles caracterizam importante ferramenta de orientação pedagógica, sobretudo no que se refere aos objetivos e conteúdos do LDLP. Os resultados apontam que nem sempre os gêneros textuais expostos no livro em questão proporcionam ao aluno a compreensão e a produção dos diferentes gêneros, observando o contexto de uso social
