Pharmacotherapeutic accompaniment in chronic myeloid leukemia : evaluation of pharmaceutical intervention

Objectives: To monitor patients being treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors, describing the problems related to drug during the follow-up. Methods: this work is a descriptive and prospective study, conducted during the pharmaceutical care to patients of chronic myeloid leukemia clinic of the Hospital Universitário Walter Cantídio in the Universidade Federal do Ceará, from September 2012 to August 2013. The pharmaceutical interventions were classified systematically and the statistical analyzes were performed using Epi Info v. 3.5.1 program. They were followed a total of 74 patients. Results: we identified 258 problems related to the drug and in return were held 267 pharmaceutical interventions. Conclusions: from the above we can see the importance of individual monitoring of patients through the practice of pharmaceutical care, performing guidelines regarding the treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors by monitoring drug therapy and providing information on major adverse reactions, thus ensuring a good adherence to treatment.Objetivos: Acompanhar pacientes em tratamento com inibidores da tirosina quinase, descrevendo os problemas relacionados ao medicamento identificados durante o acompanhamento. Material e Métodos: este trabalho se trata de um estudo descritivo e prospectivo, realizado durante o atendimento farmacêutico aos pacientes do ambulatório de leucemia mieloide crônica do Hospital Universitário Walter Cantídio da Universidade Federal do Ceará, no período de setembro 2012 a agosto de 2013. As intervenções farmacêuticas foram classificadas sistematicamente e as análises estatísticas realizadas no programa Epi Info v. 3.5.1. Foram acompanhados, no total, 74 pacientes. Resultados: foram identificados 258 problemas relacionados ao medicamento e em contrapartida foram realizadas 267 intervenções farmacêuticas. Conclusões: pelo exposto percebe-se importância do monitoramento individual dos pacientes através da prática da atenção farmacêutica, realizando orientações a respeito do tratamento com os inibidores da tirosina quinase, monitorando a farmacoterapia e fornecendo as informações sobre as principais reações adversas, garantindo assim uma boa adesão ao tratamento
