Written culture: reading practices and printed book

It aims at to understand the trajectory of the printed book in its materiality, as well as the processes delineated from the undisputed cultural presence and politics of this support for the modern society. Search to evidence the reading practices, the phenomena and the mutations that fortify such support per centuries, approaching the “book crisis”, its causes and effects. Therefore, it deals with the particularitities of the written culture, that if they had accomplished in the Siècle des Lumières and if they had consecrated in “acting” of the spirit of the authors and the readers of that time, whose propagation influenced the western person. It analyzes the sociological and historical conditions of the place of the modern reader between Science, Philosophy and Romance, continuously transformed for the renewal of the thought and the culture.A história da cultura escrita e das práticas de leitura é o tema discutido neste artigo. Visa compreender a trajetória do livro impresso em sua materialidade, bem como os processos delineados a partir da incontestável presença cultural e política desse suporte para a sociedade moderna. Busca evidenciar as práticas, os fenômenos e as mutações que sustentam tal suporte por séculos, abordando a “crise do livro”, suas causas e efeitos. Por conseguinte, trata das particularidades da cultura escrita, que se efetivaram no Siècle des Lumières e se consagraram no “agir” do espírito dos autores e dos leitores daquela época, cuja propagação influenciou definitivamente o mundo ocidental. Analisa as condições sociológicas e históricas do lugar do leitor moderno entre Ciência, Filosofia e Romance, continuamente transformado pela renovação do pensamento e da cultura
