Construction and validation of an educational website for breastfeeding promotion and prevention of deleterious oral habits

Breastfeeding has advantages that have been known and diffused in society since the earliest times. It is understood that it can interfere in the quality of life of the child and the family and its absence can lead to emotional, nutritional and cognitive problems, besides stimulating the installation of non-nutritive sucking habits and, consequently, the establishment of dental malocclusion And disturbances in the child's orofacial growth and development. In this sense, the health professional is important for stimulating breastfeeding, since it can prevent early weaning and contribute to improving the health conditions of the child. The aim of this study was to develop and validate an educational website for breastfeeding and oral health, linking technology and health to the benefit of the community. The aim of this study was to promote breastfeeding practices and prevent the establishment of deleterious oral habits. It was a methodological study, which was developed by Falkembach (2005), which is composed of five phases: analysis and planning, modeling, implementation, evaluation and distribution. Therefore, the "Amor Além do Seio" website was created, which presented the following sections and subsections: Home, Breastfeeding (breastfeeding and its benefits, possible difficulties), Oral Health (oral health and breastfeeding, deleterious habits, malocclusion, Oral hygiene) and Learn More. The validation step was performed through the collection of data with six judges of content and three of appearance. The results were evaluated according to the Content Validity Index (CVI), with a cutoff point of 0.80. The website presented IVC content of 0.95 and IVC of appearance of 0.90, being considered approved by the judges. Before the suggestions and contributions, from the validation process, the website has undergone changes in order to make it more attractive and easy to navigate. It is concluded that the educational website "Love Beyond the Breast" becomes a means of disseminating knowledge about breastfeeding and its relationship with the child's orofacial development, stimulating healthier practices alongside the mother-child-family trinomial. In addition, this educational material, reliable and valid, extends the range of action of the Family Health Strategy, expanding the role of the dental surgeon in the area of ​​health education and lifelong education.A amamentação possui vantagens que são conhecidas e difundidas na sociedade desde os tempos mais remotos. Compreende-se que ela pode interferir na qualidade de vida da criança e da família e sua ausência pode acarretar problemas emocionais, nutricionais e cognitivos, além de estimular a instalação de hábitos de sucção não nutritivos e, consequentemente, o estabelecimento de uma má oclusão dentária e de distúrbios no crescimento e desenvolvimento orofacial da criança. Neste sentido, o profissional de saúde é importante para o estímulo do aleitamento materno, pois pode evitar o desmame precoce e contribuir para melhorar as condições de saúde da criança. Pensando em fomentar a prática da amamentação e prevenir a instalação de hábitos bucais deletérios, este estudo teve como objetivo desenvolver e validar um website educativo em prol da amamentação e da saúde bucal, unindo tecnologia e saúde em benefício da comunidade. Tratou-se de um estudo metodológico, que utilizou para o desenvolvimento do website o Modelo de Desenvolvimento de Material Educativo Digital, proposto por Falkembach (2005), composto por cinco fases: análise e planejamento, modelagem, implementação, avaliação e distribuição. Sendo assim, foi construído o website “Amor Além do Seio” que apresentou as seguintes seções e subseções: Início, Amamentação (amamentação e seus benefícios, possíveis dificuldades), Saúde Bucal (saúde bucal e amamentação, hábitos deletérios, má oclusão, orientações e higiene oral) e Saiba Mais. A etapa de validação foi realizada por meio da coleta de dados com seis juízes de conteúdo e três de aparência. Os resultados foram avaliados de acordo o Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC), tendo como ponto de corte de 0,80. O website apresentou IVC de conteúdo de 0,95 e IVC de aparência de 0,90, sendo considerado aprovado pelos juízes. Diante das sugestões e contribuições, oriundas do processo de validação, o website sofreu alterações, a fim de torná-lo mais atrativo e de fácil navegação. Conclui-se que o website educativo “Amor Além do Seio” torna-se um meio de difusão de conhecimentos no tocante à amamentação e sua relação com o desenvolvimento orofacial da criança, estimulando práticas mais saudáveis junto ao trinômio mãe-criança-família, de forma lúdica, pedagógica e interativa.
