Latent TB (LTB) is the presence of M. tuberculosis in the organism without clinical evidence of disease. Approximately 90-95% of infected individuals are capable of triggering an immune response that prevents the progression of LTB for TB disease. However, some clinical situations can act as risk factors for the onset of tuberculosis, including patients with chronic immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, in use of biological agents.
