This work presents the chemical study from the leaves of the species Baccharis salzmannii DC (Asteraceae) collected in the city of Jacobina, Bahia. The phytochemical investigation of the ethanol extract of leaves provided the isolation of the flavonoids 5,7,4 '-trihydroxy-flavone (apigenin) and 5,7,4'-trihydroxy-flavanone (narigenina), of the diterpene kaurenoic acid, two clerodane compounds, namely, (-)-(5R,6S,8R,9S,10R)-6,15,18,19-tetrahydroxy-cleroda-3-ene,(-)-(5R,6S,8R,9S,10R)-6,15,18-trihydroxy-cleroda-3-ene reported for the fist time in literature, and of the sesquiterpene patchoulane [7.10;1,5] patchou-4(12)-ene.
