Biometrics seed, seedling morphology and initial growth of seedlings of chemotypes Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão

The species Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão has high economic value due to its wide use in industry and in folk medicine, in addition to presenting a great potential to be used in reforestation programs. This study aimed to generate information regarding morfobiometria seed, seedling morphology and seedling growth of four chemotypes M. urundeuva Allemão. The research was conducted at the Center for Teaching and Research in Urban Agriculture (NEPAU), Department of Plant Science in CCA/UFC, Fortaleza - CE. The biometric study of seeds aimed to study the external morphology and quantification of thousand seed weight of each chemotype. We used a sample of 100 seeds, where the following characteristics were observed: biometrics, color, shape, texture and thousand seed weight. About the morphology, it was not detected distinction between the chemotypes. The chemotypes called by CE3, RN3, RN2 and RN2’ showed an average diameter of, respectively, 3.80 mm, 3.35 mm, 3.79 mm and 3.15 mm. The morphological characterization of germination of seedlings aimed to study the morphology of germination of the four chemotypes. For this study, 100 seeds of each chemotype were seeded in 300 ml plastic cups filled by mixture of vermiculite and humus. All chemotypes showed membranous epicarp and epigeal phanerocotylar showing further development of roots in relation to shoot. The experimental testing of initial growth aimed to evaluate the effect of two environments in eight periods of the four mastic chemotypes. The experiment was conducted in completely randomized design (CRD) in sub-split plots with plots consisting of the environments (greenhouse and full sun), the split the chemotypes (CE3, RN3, RN2 and RN2’), and sub-subplots, the evaluation periods (0, 14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 80 and 98 days after transplanting). The variables evaluated were: shoot length, root length, leaf number, stem diameter, dry weight of shoot and root dry weight. The present study showed that the environment full sun is best suited to the cultivation of chemotypes analyzed.A espécie Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão possui elevado valor econômico devido à sua larga utilização na indústria e na medicina popular, além de apresentar um grande potencial para ser utilizada em programas de reflorestamento. Este trabalho teve como objetivo gerar informações quanto à morfobiometria de sementes, morfologia de plântulas e crescimento inicial de mudas de quatro quimiotipos de Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão. O trabalho de pesquisa foi desenvolvido no Núcleo de Ensino e Pesquisa em Agricultura Urbana (NEPAU), do Departamento em Fitotecnia CCA/UFC, em Fortaleza-CE. O estudo biométrico das sementes teve como objetivo estudar as características morfológicas externas e a quantificação do peso de mil sementes de cada quimiotipo. Utilizou-se uma amostra de 100 sementes, onde foram observadas as seguintes características: biometria, cor, forma, textura e o peso de mil sementes. Quanto à morfologia não houve distinção entre os quimiotipos. Os quimiotipos denominados por CE3, RN3, RN2 e RN2’ apresentaram diâmetro médio, respectivamente, de 3,80 mm, 3,35 mm, 3,79 mm e 3,15 mm. A caracterização morfológica da germinação de plântulas objetivou estudar a morfologia da germinação dos quatro quimiotipos. Para tal estudo, foram semeadas 100 sementes de cada quimiotipo em copos plásticos de 300 ml preenchidos pela mistura de vermiculita e húmus. Todos os quimiotipos apresentaram epicarpo membranáceo e germinação epígea fanerocotiledonar, exibindo um maior desenvolvimento da parte radicular em relação à parte aérea. O ensaio experimental de crescimento inicial teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito de dois ambientes em oito períodos de avaliação de quatro quimiotipos de aroeira. O experimento foi instalado em delineamento inteiramente casualizados (DIC), em parcelas sub-subdivididas, sendo as parcelas constituídas pelos ambientes (casa de vegetação e sol pleno), as subparcelas os quimiotipos (CE3, RN3, RN2 e RN2’), e as sub-subparcelas, os períodos de avaliação (0, 14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 80 e 98 dias após a repicagem). As variáveis avaliadas foram: comprimento da parte aérea, comprimento da raiz, número de folhas, diâmetro do coleto, peso seco da parte aérea e peso seco da raiz. O presente estudo mostrou que o ambiente pleno sol é o mais indicado para o cultivo dos quimiotipos analisados
