Análise da inserção dos produtores de mel no modo de produção orgânico na região do Vale do Jaguaribe

Although production of organic honey is one of the main levers to boost the growth of Ceara beekeeping, beekeepers in the main producing region of the state still suffer from inadequate knowledge of the techniques required by the ministry of agriculture and livestock for organic activity and also with lack of indicators to measure the degree of preparedness and fitness of beekeeping in relation to organic activity. The main objective of this study was the inclusion of factors of production so beekeepers in organic honey producers in the counties in the Lower Jaguaribe. To verify the adequacy of producers to organic farming legislation was used organic products created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA). The relationship between socioeconomic variables and indices of organic beekeeping were made through a factor analysis and to identify which variables contribute to the beekeepers are inserted in the group of organic farmers was made a discriminant analysis. The results showed that on average beekeepers employ 56% of recommendations for a way to organic production, the index was the siting of the apiaries that contributed the most and least contributed to the formation of the overall suitability index (IGA) was the origin of bees and certification processes. In the factor analysis extracted four factors called capitalization, adequacy of property, size of property and human capital. The results of discriminant analysis indicated that the fact of "Beekeeping is the main activity of the farmer" and "years of study" are the main discriminating variables between the groups of organic and non organic producers. Thus, it is concluded that although there natural factors favorable to organic beekeeping in the state of Ceará most beekeepers is not yet prepared for the cultivation of organic honey.Embora a produção de mel orgânico seja uma das principais alavancas para impulsionar o crescimento da atividade apícola cearense, os apicultores da região produtora mais importante do Ceará ainda sofrem com inadequados conhecimentos das técnicas exigidas pelo ministério da agricultura e pecuária para a atividade orgânica e também com a falta de indicadores que permitam medir o grau de preparação e adequação da apicultura em relação à atividade orgânica. O principal objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar os fatores de inserção dos apicultores no modo de produção orgânico nos municípios produtores de mel no Baixo Jaguaribe. Para verificar a adequação dos produtores ao cultivo orgânico foi utilizada a legislação dos produtos orgânicos criada pelo Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA). As relações entre as variáveis socioeconômicas e os índices da apicultura orgânica foram feitas através de uma análise fatorial e para identificar quais as variáveis que contribuem para que os apicultores sejam inseridos no grupo dos produtores orgânicos foi feita uma análise discriminante. Os resultados apontaram que em média os apicultores empregam 56% das recomendações necessárias para um modo de produção orgânico, o índice localização dos apiários foi o que mais contribuiu e as que menos contribuíram para a formação do índice de adequação geral (IGA) foi origem das abelhas e os processos de certificação. Na análise fatorial foram extraídos quatro fatores, chamados de capitalização, adequação da propriedade, tamanho da propriedade e capital humano. Os resultados da análise discriminante apontaram que o fato da “apicultura ser a principal atividade do produtor rural” e “anos de estudo” são as principais variáveis discriminantes entre os grupos dos produtores orgânicos e não orgânicos. Dessa forma, conclui-se que apesar de existir fatores naturais favoráveis à apicultura orgânica no estado do Ceará grande parte dos apicultores ainda não está preparada para o cultivo do mel orgânico
