A inserção da economia cearense no comércio internacional no período 1970 a 1994

The objective of this study was to analyze the Ceará exporting sector performance in the international market, during the period from 1970 to 1994. For this, the external overture degree, the evolution of the exports value, the importance of the commercial partners, the influence of the real exchange rate over the total value of the exports were investigated. Low degrees of external overture and concentration in a few products were found, with excel to cashew nut almond and lobster. The sectors which had the biggest participations in the exports total value were the fishery, cashew nut and textile industries. However, from the point of view of tendency, only the textile industry grew in the international market, while the two others lost importance in the twenty five years analyzed. Still, export income concentrated in a few commercial partners and strong dependence to the North American market were found. The export income of Ceará was inelastic in relation to variations in effective exchange rate and the partial coefficients of determination suggest that the Ceará exporting sector performance was more influenced by other variables.Tem como objetivo analisar o desempenho do segmento exportador cearense no mercado internacional, no período 1970 a 1994. Analisada o grau de abertura externa, a evolução do valor das exportações, a importância dos diferentes parceiros comerciais e a influência do câmbio real sobre o valor total das exportações. Constatados baixos níveis de abertura externa da economia cearense ao mercado internacional ao longo do período analisado. A receita cambial concentrou-se em poucos produtos, destacando-se a amêndoa da castanha de caju e a lagosta. Os segmentos produtivos que tiveram as maiores participações no valor total das exportações do Estado foram: indústria processadora de castanha de caju, indústria de pesca e indústria têxtil. No entanto, do ponto de vista tendencial, apenas o pólo têxtil apresentou crescimento no mercado internacional, enquanto os outros dois perderam importância no decorrer dos vinte e cinco anos analisados. Foi constatada, ainda, a concentração da receita em poucos parceiros e uma forte dependência do mercado norte-americano. A receita cambial do Ceará mostrou-se relativamente inelástica às variações nas taxas de câmbio efetivas, tendo os coeficientes parciais de determinação sugerido que o desempenho do segmento exportador cearense foi mais fortemente influenciado por outras variáveis
