(Des)alinhando alguns fios da modernidade pedagógica: um estudo sobre as práticas discursivas em torno da educação infantil em Campina Grande-PB(1919-1945)

This dissertation has as objective to investigate the discursive networks that tried to build a local identity based on education in the beginning of the 20th century in the city of Campina Grande/PB. This study suggests an interest on the historicity of the emergence of a preoccupation over teaching and problematizes the conditions in which the rising of an idea of education is possible attached to the idea of modernity. We apprehend how the discourses of progress were associated to the pedagogical discourse in the attempt to transform Campina Grande into a modern and civilized city. Thus, we investigate the networks, the strands that unravel and give visibility to such question from the discourse practices of Ronaldo Dinoá and the local newspapers. As a reference we‟ve used the work Memories of Campina Grande and the many speeches published in the printed newspapers that circulated around the city at the time, investigating how the enunciations elaborated a notion of education articulated to a need of naming it as the main tool to reach the pedagogical modernity. So, we try to escape a historicity that privileges only the material configurations of the modern desire, casting a more subjective look as a possibility to approach the pedagogical modernity, understanding it as disarrangement between continuities and discontinuities, as rupture and singularities. We take the period between 1919 (year of the foundation of a private school in the city the Campinense Pedagogical Institute) and 1945, due to this one being the end of the term of Lieutenant Alfredo Dantas in that Institute, caused by his death. O presente estudo sugere um interesse pela historicidade da emergência de uma preocupação com o ensino e problematiza as condições de possibilidade do surgimento de uma noção de educação acoplada à idéia de modernidade. Apreendemos como os discursos de progresso associaram-se ao discurso pedagógico na tentativa de transformar Campina Grande em uma cidade moderna e civilizada. Investigamos, assim, as redes, os fios que (des)alinham e dão visibilidade a tal questão a partir das práticas discursivas de Ronaldo Dinoá e dos jornais campinenses. Apropriamos, como referência, a obra Memórias de Campina Grande e os vários discursos publicados nos jornais impressos que circularam na cidade na época, investigando como os enunciados elaboraram uma noção de educação articulada a uma necessidade de nomeá-la como a principal ferramenta para se alcançar a modernidade pedagógica. Assim, tentamos escapar de uma historicidade que privilegie apenas as configurações materiais do desejo moderno, lançando um olhar mais subjetivo como possibilidade de abordagem da modernidade pedagógica, entendendo-a como um (des)alinho entre continuidades e descontinuidades, como ruptura e singularidade. Tomamos, como recorte temporal, os anos de 1919, respectivamente ao ano de fundação de um educandário privado na cidade O Instituto Pedagógico Campinense e o ano que encerra a gestão do Tenente Alfredo Dantas no Instituto, em virtude de sua morte. Buscamos escriturar uma história das práticas discursivas tendo a análise de discurso como metodologia empregada
