O perfil dos professores de Educação Física da rede Municipal de João Pessoa no Ensino Fundamental.

The research seeks to analyze the profile of physical education (PE) teachers from the local schools of the city of João Pessoa in the Elementary School. This is a descriptive survey with quantitative and qualitative approach. The scope of the research involves the teachers of Physical Education who work in the Elementary School in the nine aggregations. The sample comprises teachers of Physical Education (PE) from the local schools at the daytime shift. For the survey we used questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. The questionnaire is structured with open and closed questions and has two parts: profile of the teacher and physical education (PE) at school. There is a majority of females, 53.85%, which also shows a percentage of younger women in the aged group between 20-29 years old, explicitly 17.94%. As to the age group, 30.8% are above the age of 50, more than a half being male (23.7%). We draw attention to the labour conditions of the teachers, under which 51.3% are outsourced. It reveals that the teacher does not always know precisely the concept that he or she has been working with and other times he or she works with several concepts, without even realizing it, but trying to prepare meaningful lessons for students. The teachers perceive the relevance of the laws, the projects and programs, and try to establish a bridge between theory and in-class practice. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, com uma abordagem quanti-qualitativa. O universo da pesquisa envolve professores de Educação Física que atuam no Ensino Fundamental I dos nove polos. A amostra compreende os professores de Educação Física da Rede Municipal do horário diurno. Para a pesquisa utilizamos como instrumento de coleta de dados o questionário. O questionário está estruturado com perguntas abertas e fechadas e composto por duas partes: perfil do professor e a Educação Física na escola. Existe uma predominância do sexo feminino com 53,85%, que também apresenta um percentual de mulheres mais jovens na faixa etária de 20-29 anos, o que indica 17,94%. Quanto à faixa etária 30,8% estão acima de 50 anos onde a maioria, correspondente a 23,7% é do sexo masculino. Chama atenção para a condição trabalhista dos professores onde, 51,3% são prestadores de serviços. Revela que nem sempre o professor sabe com precisão a concepção que vem trabalhando e outras vezes trabalham com várias, mesmo sem perceber, porém buscam elaborar aulas significativas para o aluno. Percebem a relevância das leis, dos projetos e programas, e tentam fazer uma associação em relação à teoria e a prática dos mesmos.
