The aim of this study was to evaluate the initial growth and quality of Schizolobium parahyba var. amazonicum seedlings under different substrates. Paricá seedlings were sown in the following substrates: organic soil, organic soil + sawdust, organic soil + bovine manure, and a soil from a Yellow Latosol (Oxisol) in a seedling nursery with a shade-cloth of 70%. After 30, 50, and 103 days, the fresh leaf matter (FPA) and the dry leaf matter (SPA) were evaluated. For the root system, the root system matter (SR) was obtained.
