Relations between physiology and behavior of wedge sole (dicologoglossa cuneata): first approach to the identification of coping syles.

The objecive of this work was to determine integrative physiological and behavioral responses to stress in captive wedge soles in order to identify coping styles. Different idividual behavioral test were performed, and blood samoles were taken for analyzing cortisol concentration post-stress. The results showed that fish with higher physiological responses to stress adapted to new environment conditions worse. In that way , those fish tried to escape more intensily adverse situations. These data suppose a first approach to the study of coping style in this species. Se llevaron a cabo diferentes test de comportamiento individuales y se tomaron muestras de sangre para el análisis del contenido de cortisol  tras estrés. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que los peces con una respuesta fisiológica más acusada al estrés son los que peor se adaptan a nuevas condiciones y, a su vez, tienden a intentar escapar más intensamente de situaciones adversas.
