Demonstration of Meeting the 2014 Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs Core and the Student Affairs/College Counseling Specialty Standards via One Major Artifact

Includes bibliographical references (pages 13-14)The College Counseling and Student Services graduate program ensures that graduates develop and master knowledge and skills needed to become effective counselors and student affairs professionals. This is accomplished by using the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Program (CACREP) standards. CACREP standards provide programs with specifications that graduate students must meet to develop their counselor identity and master the skills needed to become competent professionals. The following artifact demonstrates my understanding and knowledge in Social and Cultural Diversity. Research suggests that faculty and staff are not integrating technology effectively in ways that can enhance student learning. Thus, the following major artifact discusses social and cultural diversity and describes ways to increase student learning in a more advanced technological approach, by proposing that universities must identify the technological barriers that faculty, and students encounter.
