Advances in technology have brought about the creation of an electric scooter as a means of transportation and recreation. Also, new advances suggest improvements in the existing electric scooter to make it more efficient by extending the battery life. The battery life of the electric scooter can be extended through regenerative braking. Existing methodologies are examined, and a new scooter design is constructed in Solidworks with the inclusion of a hub motor to be used in driving the scooter and also in the application of regenerative braking.
