An experimental study was conducted on the subject of a droplet splash using different fluids with a number of film thicknesses while searching for the incipient point of break-up. The goal then was to obtain a relationship between drop dimensionless parameter and the point of incipient break-up or when the first sign of splash with one or more droplets leaving the body of the liquid. The Reynolds numbers (Re) and the Weber numbers (We) at break-up were considered for various values of 8/D (liquid thickness/drop diameter).
