Every two years the drama department of San Fernando\ud Valley State College presents a musical production. In\ud keeping with this tradition THE ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT\ud --THE SMELL OF THE CROWD by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony\ud Newley was the 1969 selection and was produced in May for\ud 12 performances, staged and directed by Leslie Wieder as a\ud Master's: thesis production. The production was carefully planned, cast, and\ud rehearsed for a period of eight weeks. The following\ud account represents: (I) an analysis of the script, (2) an\ud analysis of the aesthetic and physical problems encountered\ud in the course of production and (3) a statement of the\ud goals and objectives as seen by the director
