Communication Disorders and Sciences Annual Assessment Report to the College 2013-2014

Describes the Communication Disorders and Sciences Department's assessment activities for the academic year 2013-2014.The Communications Disorders and Sciences annual assessment report to the College for the Office of Academic Assessment. The department revised its alumni and employer surveys and cross-sectionally assessed students in CD 465, 566, and 567 with respect to SLOs 1 and 2 (Demonstrate appropriate comportment; and cultural sensitivity). Indirect assessment results from student surveys indicate a high level of student knowledge of appropriate professional comportment, consistent with the finding in 2012-13, and reflecting the success of a departmental revision of its clinical handbook in 2011-12 with the goal of improving student knowledge in this category. Indirect assessment of Grad SLO 2 (cultural sensitivity) reveals high scores (4.93-5 on a scale of 5) in this learning category as well
