The purpose of this descriptive study was to describe collaborative partnerships and to examine characteristics that attract community partnerships within a Career Technical Education (CTE) southern California high school. Community partners reported four factors for initiating and supporting involvement. The themes of the partner involvement that emerged were: (a) learning through hands-on learning/project-based learning. (b) commitment and dedication of the staff, (c) school has a good reputation, and (d) honest dialog with CHS administrator.\ud The following research questions guided the study.
