It is a three year residential program which includes classroom activities for the mothers, and early stimulation programs for the children.\ud There are seven objectives of the program, which are specifically explained and for which methods of evaluation are provided. All members of the staff are clearly identified, with a clear explanation of job descriptions.\ud The major goal of the program is to teach mentally retarded mothers how to parent while aiding them in the development of self-confidence in the area of parenting
