Describes the General Education assessment activities for the academic year 2013-2014.The General Education annual assessment report to the College for the Office of Academic Assessment. General Education focused this year on the assessment of the Comparative Studies GE requirement. A rubric for direct assessment was presented to departments and Associate Deans, and a survey was developed and administered as indirect assessment of student motivation. A presentation was also made to the WASC ARC conference for 2014. Analysis of the results of the use of common rubric indicated unsatisfactory inter-rater reliability, leading to a repeat assessment in Fall 2014.
