Computerized ideal gas mixture property tables for interactive use

Includes bibliographical references (page 53)A program has been developed to calculate the thermodynamic\ud properties of an ideal gas or ideal gas mixture. Data is provided\ud for gas compounds made up of the first 18 elements in the periodic\ud chart. The program is intended to provide a working engineer or\ud engineering student with an on-line interactive system for\ud professional or classroom use.\ud The program is easy to use even at the junior level engineering\ud undergraduate program without any knowledge of computer programming.\ud It cues the user for all inputs and checks the input for incorrectly\ud entered data. It then prompts for the valid data whenever possible.\ud The program uses four basic equations to compute the ideal gas\ud properties. These are the heat capacity, the enthalpy, the entropy,\ud and the specific volume. A user can then find all the thermodynamic\ud properties given any two independent properties from pressure,\ud temperature, specific volume, enthalpy, internal energy, and entropy.\ud For ideal gases, temperature, internal energy, and enthalpy are not\ud independent properties. This program also calculates the properties\ud of an ideal gas mixture. To do this calculation, the program also\ud needs to know the relative composition of the gas mixture.\ud The program was written in modular form, so it should be\ud relatively easy to update. Also, if the coefficients should get\ud updated the coefficient dataset can be easily replaced. The program\ud has been tested and retested. It should not have program bugs in it,\ud but if they pop up, the program can be easily modified
