A planning model for establishing a Women's/Re-Entry Center at the community college

Includes bibliographical references (pages 75-78)In the summer of 1985, a colleague and co-student in the Master???s Program in Educational Psychology and I decided to establish a Women???s/Re-Entry Center at the community college with which we are affiliated. The Women???s/Re-Entry Center was born out of a plan to create our own internship at a place where we saw a great need for such a center. This project examines the need for such a program and explores the uniqueness of this group of students with their own set of problems and issues. Guidelines for establishing a Women???s/Re-Entry Center are set forth along with a needs assessment questionnaire to indicate the desired outcomes of a Women???s/Re-Entry Center. Also included are an assessment of the status of problems and needs of women on a college campus, goals and objectives of a Women???s/Re-Entry Center, program strategies and staff development approaches, and a student evaluation form. In conclusion, I have written a narration of how we went about establishing the Women???s/Re-Entry Center on our community college campus
