A degrada??o de um ecossistema florestal n?o implica, necessariamente, em desmatamento. Uma ?rea degradada pode conter ?rvores, mas n?o exibir integridade ecol?gica, que pode ser descrita como a capacidade do ecossistema de sustentar e manter uma comunidade em equil?brio, incluindo ainda quest?es como sa?de do ecossistema, biodiversidade e estabilidade. Um percussor para tal processo podemos destacar a invas?o biol?gica, onde representa a segunda maior amea?a mundial a biodiversidade, perdendo apenas para a destrui??o de habitats pela explora??o humana direta. Em locais com limita??es ambientais ? sucess?o de esp?cies, a regenera??o natural pode ser potencializada por meio do plantio de esp?cies facilitadoras. Esp?cies leguminosas apresentam vantagem adicional por estabelecerem simbiose com bact?rias fixadoras de N2 atmosf?rico. O experimento foi desenvolvido em casa de vegeta??o pertencente ? Faculdade de Ci?ncias Agr?rias da Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM), Campus JK, em Diamantina/MG. O delineamento utilizado foi um Dic (Delineamento Inteiramente Casualizado) possuindo 6 tratamentos, com seis repeti??es, compostos pela inocula??o ou n?o do angico por mix de rizobio (estirpes BR7701 e BR7702), em monocultivo ou em competi??o com Urochloa brizantha (braqui?ria). Os tratamentos adicionais foram um cultivo de angico com a braqui?ria inoculada ou n?o com o mix de riz?bio. Determinou-se a massa seca de folha, caule e raiz, parte a?rea e total. Para a avalia??o fisiol?gica das plantas, a fluoresc?ncia da clorofila a foi avaliada nas folhas completamente expandidas e fotossit?ticamente ativas, utilizando-se de um fluor?metro port?til modelo MINI-PAM II. O crescimento inicial da altura do Angico n?o foi influenciado pela presen?a ou aus?ncia de inocula??o nas sementes, porem a presen?a da competi??o obteve diferen?a significativa. A inocula??o de riz?bio n?o causou interfer?ncia na altura da esp?cie Urochloa brizantha, porem, a competi??o, foi o fator que contribuiu para que a vari?vel n?mero de perfilhos ocorresse signific?ncia nos valores encontrados.Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Ci?ncia Florestal, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2018.The ecological restoration aims to restore ecological processes, respecting the regional characteristics and seeking not to induce the predetermined climactic. The degradation of a forest ecosystem does not necessarily imply deforestation. A degraded area may contain trees, but it does not display ecological integrity, which can be described as the ecosystem's ability to sustain and maintain a community in balance, including issues such as ecosystem health, biodiversity and stability. A percussor for such a process we can highlight the biological invasion, where it represents the second greatest global threat to biodiversity, second only to the destruction of habitats by direct human exploitation. In places with environmental limitations to the succession of species, natural regeneration can be potentiated through the planting of facilitating species. Legume species present an additional advantage by establishing symbiosis with atmospheric N2 fixing bacteria. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse belonging to the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences of the Federal University of Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM), Campus JK, in Diamantina / MG. The design was a completely randomized design with 6 treatments, with six replications, composed by the inoculation or not of angico by mix of rhizobia (strains BR7701 and BR7702), in monoculture or in competition with Urochloa brizantha (brachiaria). The additional treatments were an angico cultivar with or without brachyria inoculated with the rhizobium mix. The dry mass of leaf, stem and root, shoot and total mass was determined. For the physiological evaluation of the plants, the chlorophyll a fluorescence was evaluated in the fully expanded leaves and photosensititically active, using a portable fluorometer model MINI-PAM II. The initial growth of Angico height was not influenced by the presence or absence of inoculation in the seeds, but the presence of the competition obtained a significant difference. The inoculation of rhizobium did not interfere with the height of the Urochloa brizantha species, but the competition was the factor that contributed to the fact that the variable number of tillers occurred in the values found
