The purpose of this project was to create a child-friendly pain assessment tool to better assist children with their experiences of pain. Advances in the medical field continue to increase in regards to treatments, forms of interventions, diagnosis, and assessments. However, pain assessments continue to focus on adult pain and little focus is placed on the needs of school-age children (8-11) children. This disparity makes it difficult for children to discuss their issues related to location, level, type, and intensity of pain.
