Includes bibliographical references (page 66)The presented graduate project describes a\ud software/hardware decoding scheme on parallel digital data\ud using a MCS-80 microcomputer based system. A direct memory\ud addressing data transfer is performed on the buffered\ud digital data received. The data is compared with user\ud selected parameters and when it matches, an analog\ud representation of the digital data through digital to analog\ud converters is performed.\ud The report defines the project data inputs and outputs\ud with the design steps used to develop the system. The\ud selection of a microprocessor as a system controller is\ud justified. Various advantages and disadvantages of using a\ud microprocessor are presented. Emphasis is placed on the\ud flexibility required in the design.\ud The report describes the hardware developed to\ud interface the microprocessor with the missile, store the\ud missile telemetry information, extract the user selected\ud data of interest and finally send the data to the digital to\ud analog converters. Detailed schematics of the hardware\ud designed are included in Appendix C for reference.\ud Enclosed is a functional description of the\ud microprocessor system selected with emphasis on the hardware\ud modifications incorporated.\ud Software is developed for the hardware interface.\ud High-level flow diagrams are presented to allow the reader\ud to follow the software logic.
